Question by heylady: I need a pattern for draping the backs of folding chairs for my daughter’s wedding.?
I have checked several pattern books – no luck. I am picturing sort of an “envelope” that slips over the back, with a chair-wide drape to the floor. I am not interested in covering the seat portion, because I think that would be slippery. Thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by Amy G I don’t know where there’s a pattern (seems like all the pattern books used to have them), but it shouldn’t be hard to improvise. Just use an old sheet and make an upside down “u” shape to fit the front of the back, then make a longer one with a little extra fullness for the back. When sewing, add ribbons or ties where you want it tied in back. Try out, then take apart and use for your pattern.
question from Jamie L : What are the rules on the table linens for a wedding
I’m on a very small (under $ 1500) budget for my wedding. We found a beautiful building in a park at the front desk for $ 100 to hold. The problem is that tables and chairs are ugly. The tables are 6 feet from a white plastic “banquet” tables, which you can buy at WalMart for $ 40 and chairs are standard metal folding chairs. We want the tables just as you can see we do not have much money to spend to cover the lines. My fiance believes that we should just plastic tablecloths in our colors, but I think it is somehow klebrig.Ich some plastic tablecloths found for $ 7 each, I think we could buy, but I do not know the rules on the table and bedding. If we make tablecloths, we make table runners and chair covers and table cloths, we can only do that or whether we would be better off just to make plastic? We have a very casual wedding and reception. We are going to serve fried chicken, corn, green beans, potato salad and rolls. We are on the heavy “fancy” plastic plates to eat best answer.
response symplicated
It’s your wedding, there are no rules. You should make the place so they do not have policies that you must check to follow, but they understand that the bride and groom have their preferences, and they are usually not stören.Wenn design of things you can not afford a table runner , get creative! What is with stones in the middle of the table with decorative candles floating in bowls of water? You all can get at Walmart for under $ 30. Plastic is quite sticky, try using a rag and jazz it up in ways that will suit your personality. What do you think? Answer below!
issues by Amy : to help the wedding! Since we wanted to go to the altar?
Hello! I have a bit of a problem, I would like help with. Here’s the thing: We are most likely (since its free and we can not afford to find another place), will marry in one of our churches. The fact is Mormon churches arent really set up for weddings, because they tend to marry in the temple. Therefore, we have 2 options:-For those who have never been to a Mormon church, the banks (or what has always called theyre) with 2 short “sections” of the side walls (usually about 4 adults) sets and a large part in middle. Therefore there are 2 courses, but no center aisle. It is a walk in the very front, and there is a short walk from the front wall. Normally looks kinda like this top on the right (but much nicer and ours is a bit bigger I think) http://www.allaboutmormons.com/mormon_images.php?gallery=inside-mormon-chapel If we do that, it was this space that we at the altar? I think we would look good on that front, because there is plenty of room upstairs and a microphone. I do not know how we would be up there. So we were at the reception in the gym (they have all fitness centers, basketball some carpet play some wood) and have tables set up and ready to move from the ceremony in the gym or -. We, the ceremony has in the gym also and have just set up folding chairs so that everyone is outside or hallwaysor where afterwards, while some volunteers (mothers, etc.) and tables. Then they’ll all come back later when they have set up for reception. Maybe a few pictures while the tables are listed dich. Was think we should do? Thank you for the first answer, but I do not think the gym is large enough to be split into two halves. I wanted it to thhis a building, we saw the party to be at my aunts lake house nearby, and I did not want to really really been burned in the middle of her old and ugly haha good idea to use though:) Best answer:

Just out of curiosity, your band happen, a complete fitness room with sliding walls and have it cut into two halves? if it .. You can set your party in one half and the other half to the reception. maybe your stack house had a larger multi-purpose room? if not, perhaps you may want the ceremony in the garage, or perhaps in another room in the chapel? that is, if you are a small guest list. if not, you can just choose to walk and run, or you can get out of hand, door thats through the microphone. Whatever you choose, im sure will look great! Congratulations! know better? Leave your answer in the comments!
One important thing you need to take care on your special day is wedding chair rentals. Renting beautiful chairs can add more chic to the design and layout of your wedding decorations.
Everyone wants their wedding day to go as smoothly as it possibly can. You need to ensure that everything is planned perfectly like food, entertainment, and other wedding accessories.
All of your work can go smoothly with the help of quality Wedding Chair Rentals Company. Best wedding chair rentals are the way to ensure that you are making the most of your wedding ceremony and wedding reception.
Beautiful chairs along with elegant wedding linen rentals can dress up your wedding and add sophistication and refinement to your celebration. Considering wedding chair rentals allows you to create a beautiful atmosphere full of classiness and style at a fraction of the price. But choosing the best wedding chair rentals is the most important thing.
High quality wedding chair rentals give you a vast choice when it comes to what aspects are available for you to rent such as style, quality, and size.
Here are few tips to remember before considering wedding chair rentals:
* Choose the color and style of the chairs that match with your wedding theme. Most common choices include: white wooden chairs, plastic, white lawn style chairs, or simple folding chairs on various colors.
* It is best to consider local wedding chair rentals so that you can visit personally to the store and check them. Do this before placing the order. Be careful with the chair comfort and stability. You need to ensure that all the guests feel comfortable and good with the chairs you will select.
* Choosing wedding chair rentals also depend on the length of your event. If the event needs seating for an hour or more, then you need to pay little more attention to the chairs. Choose padded seat cushion and chair back.
* Also ask the rental company whether they provide chair covers or not. Choose specialty linen rentals company to get the most of what you are looking.
For example, you can also consider wood folding chairs. They are also best to use for places that are gathered by many people like for example on churches, wedding or any occasional receptions because they look well organized and at the same time very portable or handy. Another good choice is renting plastic chairs. They can also be considered for these functions.
Best wedding chair rentals can make your event successful and run without any stress. Classe party rentals offer you chairs of high quality and stylish designs.

Question by alwayswondering: Fuschia and Orange wedding colors theme, trying to coordinate tables, chairs, decorations?
I am going to use gerbera daisies in orange and fuschia/pink. For the tables, I’m not sure about how to decorate the scheme. I am thinking white linen with a fuschia satin table runner (maybe a colored satin tablecloth? might be ‘too much’ though), orange satin napkins folded as squares, fuschia sashes on the chairs, which are natural wood color. Centerpieces to be round glass vase with clear gems and the gerberas, with a few votives around it. Is this too much? I’m not sure about the chair sashes..
Unsure on bridesmaid dresses- either fuschia or black. I think black would look a little off but fuschia may be too bright?!
Any alternate ideas?
Thanks!
Best answer:
Answer by Maria about the dresses fuschia is a great color and i love it with orange. if you go somewhere like davids bridal you can get accessories to the dresses in orange. they have things like ribbons and things like that you can use with the fuschia dress. i think you have a wonderful plan and great ideas and you should stick with it your ideas are great!
Question by huntforjulia: Need wedding folding chair covers for June 2009?
I am trying to give my daughter a beautiful wedding on a budget. rental is $ 2.00 a piece online. Can I make them and does anyone have a patten? Or other ideas? thay are ugly beige metal folding chairs. An alternative I saw was chair back covers on a website, they cover the front backrest of a chair go over the top and to the floor. This gave the effect of a chaircover. I can’t find the site again .Thanks
Best answer:
Answer by Suz123 If one is on a budget, I suggest skipping the chair covers. Once people are seated, no one will actually notice the folding chairs. I promise. Once bodies are in the chairs, no one notices.
If truly on a tight budget, skip the chair covers. Spend your money on plenty of good food and beverages. People will notice that.
Question by ynra BTB 4-18-09: Did you or will you use chair covers for your wedding? Should I?
here’s the deal. I wanted to rent chair covers for my wedding. I feel that if you are going for the elegant, sophisticated look then you should use chair covers. but the problem is that my guest list keeps going up and that means the cost of the rental goes up also. so i’m debating whether i’m doing the right thing or am i wasting money by getting the chair covers. Does it really make the room more elegant.
thanks in advance.
P.S- the chairs in the hall are really nice they aren’t plastic or folding chairs.
the chairs are black

Answer by brwneyes I am having my wedding reception in a 4 star hotel in Las Vegas right off the Strip. The chairs are comfortable, cushioned banquet style chairs. I am getting chair covers because the chairs don’t match my colors.
If the chairs are nice and aren’t colors that would clash with your wedding, then I think it is fine not to get chair covers.

Question by Mdwstgirl85: Covering ugly metal chairs for my wedding!?
I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. My problem is the chairs are really ugly and I need a very cheap idea on how to cover those. We are on a really tight budget ($ 3,000 for everything)as we are paying for everything ourselves. I was thinking of buying some tulle for the chairs and ribbon, but I wanted to know if anyone would have any idea what that would cost per chair? My colors are fuschia, yellow and orange. Thanks!

Answer by pspoptart Check for sales on sheets. One sheet set will cover four chairs.
Another thing you can do is just make fabric covers for the chairs that are lining aisle or outside edges. The tops of the interior chairs would just need something for the backs which will save you a ton of fabric. They don’t show up in before ceremony pics and will be covered by your guests’ bodies during.
You could dye or paint canvas or just cotton fabric. Mixing patterns of clearance material will look fine as long as they are in the same colors and will help add to the casual feel.
Watch the paper and check online. Joann’s and Hobby Lobby usually have a 40% coupon every few weeks that you can use on any item in the store, even on sale. This will save you a ton. If you are on their mailing lists they will send you some as well.
I wouldn’t use tulle unless you really need to. The chairs are going to show through it.

My wedding colors are fuchsia, champagne and white. I am on a budget and need some inexpensive beautiful flowers and decor ideas. My wedding will be in June 2010 in a shady grassy area with white folding chairs and a wicker basket type off white arch with white calla lilies and greenery intertwined in it (already on the arch when rented) but calla lilies are to expensive from what I’ve seen. need some help please!

Question by IT’S A BOY!!: HELP!!! wedding ideas and advice?
ok so i have a few more questions:
1)MUSIC- need ideas for the dollar dance, father daughter(that would also be apporiate for the son and mother to dance too at the same time
2)we are having metal, folding chairs for the ceremony and i have bundle of flowers with raffia tied around it, would that look ok on the chairs(since it would be more in the middle hanging, or should i just put something on the ground
3)its an outdoor wedding in a pasture, its fall and im using browns, orange and yellow, what kind of shoes can i go with
( no heels, and pics would be great)
4) after the ceremony, walking up the aisle, would footloose be ok or should that be for when we enter the reception?
Best answer:
Answer by chrystalique 1. I’d say ask the DJ for help with the dollar dance song options. As for the father/daughter & mother/son dance there is a great Celine Dion song but I don’t remember the name of it (the DJ should know).
2. I wouldn’t put anything on the metal chairs because you don’t want to highlight that they are metal chairs.
3. Strappy flat sandals that match your outfit like the greek olympian style sandals that tie across your foot and around your ankle.
Question by homemom: How to economically cover/decorate folding chairs for a wedding reception?
My daughter’s having a TX BBQ wedding reception (so it’ll definitely be more casual), and wishes to keep costs down. Suggestions on how to cover and/or decorate all the guests’ folding metal chairs economically would be greatly appreciated. There will probably be 100+ people in attendance, and I work full-time, so sewing custom covers is out of the question. Renting/buying the covers is quite costly, but they need SOMETHING on the chairs. I’m thinking there must be some attractive way of draping them with fabric and tying it, but don’t know how to proceed. The tables are rectangular and we’ll need to coordinate with table linens as well–suggestions there are likewise appreciated.
Best answer:
Answer by sarahsmiles1222 You could get white (or some color that coordinates with the other colors in the wedding, maybe do the wedding party chairs in white) and simply wrap it over the top of the chairs, bring it around the sides, gather it in the back and tie a big bow. For the wedding party, if you want to make them a little fancier you could add flowers to the bow. Good luck!
Question by RIL: help! chair rental dilemma for wedding reception?
I have the hall for my wedding reception booked. it was a great price for the location, unfortunetly the chairs provided by the lodge are an eye sore! this is the place:http://www.laparks.org/dos/reservations/grace_photoalbum.htm
I’m having a summer wedding, my dress is ivory and the bridesmaids will be wearing yellow. A friend suggested renting chair covers w/sashes but the prices are ridiculous! We’re expecting 150 guests and the most affordable rate so far is .75 per chair…crazy right?!! Another friend suggested renting wood folding padded chairs. It is more cost effective however, now it comes down to choosing a color. The tables will be covered with floor lenght ivory silk linens. These chairs are available in white and natural wood, i’m not sure what would look best! Would it look tacky to use these for an indoor reception?
Any ideas on how to give these chairs an elegant touch yet affordable?
Best answer:
Answer by Mrs B to be I wouldnt use the wooden chairs indoors. They arent the most comfortable of things to start with…plus they’re folding (how many of those wedding candid camera clips involve folding chairs?!) I dont think they will achieve the look.
Try Speaking to the chair cover people and hagling for a large booking discount… you’re ordering 150 of them…surely they could knock a lil off

Question by muriel12: For an outdoor wedding ceremony, how much space or distance is necessary for rows of folding chairs?
I am planning an outdoor ceremony using white, wood, folding chairs for the guests to sit in. I need to know how much room each row will take up–not in width, but in depth from the altar area. A helpful answer would tell me how much space there needs to be from the back of one chair to the front of the seat of the chair behind it, or the distance from chair back to chair back or something like that. It is a certain number of feet per row? How much space will it take to make it comfortable for the guests?
Best answer:
Answer by shimmy My suggestion would be to have your guests as close to the action as possible. This allows them to see and hear what is happening. After all you want them there to witness your wedding or you wouldn’t have invited them!
Put the chairs in the second row with enough room to be able to get up and down comfortably. If you know one of your relatives is a little larger than the others allow room for them too. Just sit down in a chair then put another chair behind it and then measure yourself, the distance for comfort.
