Different Styles Of A Beach Lounge Chair Are Suited For Different Uses

There are some different styles of the basic beach lounge chair available on the market today. Each type has characteristics which makes them better suited for certain uses than others. Lets take a quick look at these different designs and for what uses they are best suited.

One of the original beach lounge chair styles is an Adirondack version of a lounger. These are usually made out of wood or recyclable plastic resin “lumber” that actually resemble wood. Most of these are quite comfortable, being slightly contoured to fit your body. Whether wood or not, they are usually offered in a variety of colors and have optional cushions, also in a great selection of colors and fabrics. Though not overly heavy, they are not really portable for hauling down to the beach. These are best in your backyard or around a pool where you can just leave them where they’re at or scoot them to where you need them. This style is often seen at resorts, either around a pool or lined up on a beach. They are classy, they look good, they are durable and they give a good overall impression to resort clients, or guests around your personal pool.

Besides the more deluxe Adirondack style, you can also get beach loungers that have a wood frame with a fabric cover. And though these do fold up nicely, they are also best suited at pool side or at an resort.

Another distinct style of the beach lounge chair is one with an aluminum frame with either wood or plastic arm rests. This form of a lounge chair is often more sophisticated than you would originally guess. Many of them are ergonomic, with special cushions to tuck behind your back or head or under your knees. Others have what is known as a ponytail or face down hole which makes lying on your back or stomach more comfortable (think lying face down and reading a book). These types of loungers are more adjustable than the Adirondack style, with such things as arm rests that can be either up or down and out of the way. You can get an aluminum framed beach lounge chair in a variety of water resistant fabrics in many colors and designs.

Naturally these loungers work well at the pool or in your back yard, but one great thing about these chairs are that they are lightweight, so they are very portable. So the main recommended use for this style is a beach chair lounger is to take with you to the lake shore or ocean beach. Some even come with a special carrying strap or case. The aluminum framed lounger comes in many styles and start at a variety of price points, so you are bound to find one to suit your need and your budget.

Many people may argue that the last design I am going to discuss is not even a real beach lounge chair. True, it is also known as a portable beach mat, but it qualifies as a lounger because it has a steel frame and an adjustable, reclining back rest. This lounger folds up and has a carrying strap, so it almost looks like a bag, some even have an outer zippered pocket which contributes to this look. So these are the ultimate for portability. Not only great for quick trips to the park or beach, but also great for camping.

WIth spring and summer just around the corner, a new lounger may be just the thing you need. But remember to carefully consider how your beach lounge chair will be used before deciding which design will work best for you.

beach chairs come in many different styles

upbringing, I have spent many years in Europe. During my last three years of high school, we were in northern Italy, and spent many summers on the beaches of the Adriatic. Beach chairs were part of our family, we all had our own chair. They had a wooden frame and spinning-style cloth seat. This sling chairs were very popular on the beaches of Europe in the 1980s. They were down to earth and very pleasant. I discovered that sling chairs are still on the market today, though you now may be one who rocks. This is just one of many great beach chairs on the market today, gives a peek at some of the others while away from the sand.

Some of those leg supports are removable. There are wooden chairs, similar to the Director’s chair, but regular height. Or as the deck, but really low to the ground is sand chairs. All these have oak frames and canvas seats and backs. Some of these beach chairs also wider wood armrests with built-in drink holders. Each of these styles are practical because they are folding style and comfort.

Four Unique Styles Of Beach Chairs

Who doesn’t like beach chairs for a day in the sun by the water? They keep you off of the sand or rocks, they are more comfortable than being on the ground, and they mark your spot on the beach, giving you a place to call your own, and they are portable. And though a standard beach chair works most of the time, sometimes something a little more unique is preferred or needed. Here are four style’s of beach chairs that have something to set them apart from others.

The Algoma company makes, not a beach chair, but a beach couch. It is called the SportCouch beach chair. Quite handy, it folds up like a regular beach chair, but sits two adults or three kids, comfortably side by side. And though it holds up to 500 lbs., it weighs less than 10 lbs. It has a sturdy aluminum frame covered with a strong weather resistant fabric, and wooden arm rests. But, that extra something that Algoma includes with their SportCouch is 2 detachable zippered pockets that hang on the back of the chair for handy storage of anything you may need for an outing: water bottles, sunscreen, keys, phones, book or magazine, etc. Besides the beach, these are really handy for sporting events, family get togethers, or a day at the park.
One of the coolest beach chairs that I came across is by Natural Access, and helps bring difficult terrain to people who use wheel chairs or have difficulty navigating uneven surfaces. It is called the Natural Access Landeez All-Terrain Wheelchair. Designed for outdoor use, it gives freedom for people who use wheelchairs to explore, to enjoy days at the beach or outdoor on dirt trails. It has large, oversized all-terrain wheels that absorb the shock for a comfortable ride. The fabric is tear and water resistant so that it can get wet, allowing you to truly enjoy the water, plus it folds down and can be partially disassembled for easy transport and storage.
Picnic Time makes beach chairs that are like standard, folding beach chairs, but with extra’s that makes it stand apart from the competition. There are a variety of styles, wood and aluminum, and what makes them unique is the handy carrying strap, the pocket that hangs from one arm that has multiple pockets to hold water bottles, phones, books and magazines, etc. Some even have a larger, insulated pocket to keep items cold. Some styles have their own handy sun shade that attaches to the back of the chair. These chairs really are designed to make a day at the beach fun and convenient.
If you want style while lounging around outside or at the beach, then check out the orbital loungers by Red Star Traders. These loungers allow you to take your zero-gravity chair with you wherever you go. The base looks really cool, it is two round hoops hooked together in the middle with the lounger suspended between them. The chair rocks back, but has stoppers so that it cannot tip back too far. What is amazing, and just by looking at the chair I am not sure how they do it, but it will collapse down to only 8 inches wide, and weighing only 15 lbs. allows you to take this chair with you anywhere.

So, don’t settle for the normal, everyday chair, but go for something a bit more unique with one of the beach chairs mentioned above.
