Q&A: Dove hunting is coming in less that a month, need help finding the perfect chair?

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Question by Slow Joe: Dove hunting is coming in less that a month, need help finding the perfect chair?
I usually take a folding chair, ice chest, bag for equipment, case of shells and two shotguns. It wasn’t a problem until the crossing over a canal gave way so we cant drive across, now we have to carry everything and we only have one 4 wheeler so some of us backpack and carry our stuff to the camp site. Is there a chair, doesn’t matter what size smaller the better, that is also a cooler and maybe folds down into a bag or backpack? That would definitely help making one less trip. Oh and buying a four wheeler will have to wait a few years, lol, the wife doesn’t want another bill right now.
Yup good ol Rio Grande Valley hunting. We are crazy to be out in 100 degree weather with humidity as high all day.

Answer by Shogun
Sounds like some of that Rio Grande hunting I used to do. Here is a backpack chair that will hold a small igloo cooler. Be safe.

Edit: The group I hunted with would pull up in pickups and the first guy that could drop a dove in the bed of their truck got 5 bucks from everyone else. Wish I could have those days back, and some of my old friends too.

I need a pattern for draping the backs of folding chairs for my daughter’s wedding.?

by masaaki miyara

Question by heylady: I need a pattern for draping the backs of folding chairs for my daughter’s wedding.?
I have checked several pattern books – no luck. I am picturing sort of an “envelope” that slips over the back, with a chair-wide drape to the floor. I am not interested in covering the seat portion, because I think that would be slippery. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Amy G
I don’t know where there’s a pattern (seems like all the pattern books used to have them), but it shouldn’t be hard to improvise. Just use an old sheet and make an upside down “u” shape to fit the front of the back, then make a longer one with a little extra fullness for the back. When sewing, add ribbons or ties where you want it tied in back. Try out, then take apart and use for your pattern.

I need to shorten this by 8 -18 words, help!?

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Question by Sk84thegold: I need to shorten this by 8 -18 words, help!?
Colorful bowls of cereal line white tables surrounded by black, plastic chairs. A line of preschoolers crawl into their seats, ready to eat. Spoons are pulled off the table as children are reminded that they must pray first. A song is sung with folded hands and little fingers make a dash for the spoons in the middle of the table. Milk sloshes out of bowls and juice spills across the floor. A two-year old looks up at me for a napkin, knowing that if he pulls out his from under his cup, his juice will also be gone.
The kids finish their breakfast and line up again, little hands holding onto a rope. One boy lets go and runs off down the hall, disappearing into another room where he is found playing with play-doh that was left on a table. He’s taken back to the line as the children walk down the colorful halls painted with forest scenes. The rope is picked up by teachers as the kids run into their classroom for free play. Plastic tools pound on a workbench as bins of toys are poured out onto the floor. All seemed calm as music played in the background. But soon enough, screaming and crying commenced. Amari had bitten his cousin, Brandon had pushed over Charlize and Serenity’s towers, and Malachi was throwing potato head parts at people. The light blue walls encasing a room of toys and happy children had given way to what for some would be a nightmare. For the teachers from the (5 words), this was a daily occurrence.
The children were given five minutes to clean up and line up to go to the bathrooms. Somehow the room was spotless as the rope went out the door. The children went four at a time into the bathrooms, told to hurry for we had to get to the bible story. But hurry they didn’t. Giggles were heard as sinks overflowed with soapy bubbles and a little boy drenched his head from underneath the sink. And that was just the beginning. I can’t understand why the teachers from (2 words) love their job, but for some reason I loved it too.
It’s 368 words right now and it needs to be about 350. Please help.
Thanks everybody! I got it down to 352 :)

Best answer:

Answer by Aunty Joyce
Take “ready to eat” off the second sentence and “little hands holding onto a rope” from second paragraph. Nice writing. Change the tense in your very last sentence, so that they are both the same tense. (present or past) (love, loved)

I need advice! What do you think about my choice of chair rentals?

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Question by Selah: I need advice! What do you think about my choice of chair rentals?
I have an autumn themed wedding. My linens are ivory with a gold organza overlay. my center pieces are floral with some willow branches and other fall foliage incorporated into them in dark urns. The wedding is indoors and will be at night.

For the cost and the look, these are the chairs I chose: http://www.amigopartyrental.com/*widgets/gallery/detail.jspy?G=TG4760&P=TG59257189&F=/chairs.nxg

They are fruitwood folding chairs with a tan pad for $ 3.00 a piece.

Should I have chosen the lighter wood color?:

http://www.amigopartyrental.com/*widgets/gallery/detail.jspy?G=TG4760&P=TG63829781&F=/chairs.nxg

I tend to like dark colors, but my linens are light. Any opinions?

Best answer:

Answer by Meredith H
I can’t really be sure, but I think that probably indoors, at night, you made the right choice by going with the darker chairs.

Folding Chairs: When Do I Need To Use Them?

Folding Chairs: When Do I Need To Use Them?

Article by Amy Nutt

Folding chairs, as the name implies, are lightweight chairs that fold to lie reasonably flat to allow for easier storage and transport. Folding chairs are generally inexpensive to buy or rent. They are simple to operate and can be set up and taken down quickly, even by people who are physically challenged or who don’t have much stamina.

Folding chairs may be made of plastic, metal, aluminum, or wood. Some of them even have padded seats for extra comfort. Folding chairs have many uses.

Many people keep a couple of folding chairs around their home to provide extra seats for company. The chairs can be set up when the need arises and stored conveniently in a closet or even under a bed when not in use.

Facilities that cater to patients like hospitals and nursing homes are also beginning to provide folding chairs in the patients’ rooms in case extra visitors stop by. Traditionally, most patients’ rooms offered only a single visitor chair. When more than one visitor came to see the patient, the visitors would have to lug extra chairs from other rooms or from the common area. Having a few folding chairs stacked up against a wall or in the closet makes visits easier and more enjoyable for larger families.

Agencies that host meetings like support groups or training seminars often provide folding chairs for participants to sit in. Because the chairs don’t weigh much, they are easy to reposition as needed. Some seminar leaders, for instance, start with participants sitting in a circle and then have them move their chairs into smaller groups.

Schools, too, use folding chairs as a place for students to sit during lessons, assemblies, meals, etc.

Many corporations also use folding chairs. Folding chairs can convert an empty room into a corporate classroom in a few minutes’ time. They can also provide convenient seating for multiple people at staff meetings.

If your corporation sets up booths, for instance at healthcare fairs or career fairs, consider bringing along a couple of folding chairs. They’ll give your staff members a place to get off their feet and relax during down times. They can also provide a fast, comfortable seat for potential clients or employees.

Folding chairs are also valuable for large events like weddings, receptions, parties, and dances. Although folding chairs don’t cost much to purchase, if you need them for a one-time-only event you may be able to rent them. Check out equipment rentals or party rentals in the Yellow Pages.

Although folding chairs are appropriate for most occasions, they do have a few limitations. Very small children may have difficulty climbing into a folding chair. In a few cases, chairs have folded with the child in them! Also, people who are very obese may find folding chairs uncomfortable. Some folding chairs are designed to support only a certain amount of weight and may collapse if additional weight is added. Before using folding chairs for your event, it’s a good idea to find out in advance who will be attending and make other seating arrangements for people who can’t comfortably or safely use the folding chairs.

Q&A: Need wedding folding chair covers for June 2009?

Question by huntforjulia: Need wedding folding chair covers for June 2009?
I am trying to give my daughter a beautiful wedding on a budget. rental is $ 2.00 a piece online. Can I make them and does anyone have a patten? Or other ideas? thay are ugly beige metal folding chairs. An alternative I saw was chair back covers on a website, they cover the front backrest of a chair go over the top and to the floor. This gave the effect of a chaircover. I can’t find the site again .Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Suz123
If one is on a budget, I suggest skipping the chair covers. Once people are seated, no one will actually notice the folding chairs. I promise. Once bodies are in the chairs, no one notices.

If truly on a tight budget, skip the chair covers. Spend your money on plenty of good food and beverages. People will notice that.

I need help finding a camping chair?

Folding Camping Chairs
by Kazanjy

Question by Schmitt: I need help finding a camping chair?
I am looking for a camping chair that folds into a bag that reclines, has a footrest and headrest. I sat in one at a tailgate once and loved it. My husband is going to Iraq soon and needs a chair to have in his barracks that fits into a bag to store (not a folding chair). I want to get him this one that reclines with a footrest but also has a headrest tall enough to actually rest your head on (since what is the point of reclining if your head isn’t supported but i’ve found chairs without them)

http://www.everywherechair.com/kel-bch-can.html this is the only thing I can find like what i want but it is like 1ft off the ground and I want it taller.

PLEASE help me I can’t find it anywhere

Best answer:

Answer by Ang
your probably having trouble finding it because it’s not camping season. i have seen those at k-mart, walmart. target, etc, but not in the winter. maybe try their websites, or a sporting goods website like the sports authority, modells, or bob kislins, because the stores probably don’t have them in stock right now

Camp Folding Chair – Three Key Factors You Need to Know Before You Buy

Camp Folding Chair – Three Key Factors You Need to Know Before You Buy

When the camp folding chair was created it changed the camping adventure by enhancing the entire trip. The folding camp chair has become so popular today, that no one can leave home without it. Now we can enjoy being outside by bringing a little luxury from home.

The camp folding chair is portable and durable. It also comes in many different colors with numerous features for added comfort. When deciding which folding camping chair is right for you, the most important component to consider is the quality of the construction.

Consider these three key factors in construction of your camp folding chair.

Water Resistant Fabric

When you use a folding camp chair outside it is bound to get wet from rain or dew. The seat and back of the chair should be made out of water resistant fabric so that it can withstand moisture. This material is also great when its time to clean it. Just use a garden hose to wash it off and let it air dry.

Sturdy Frame

Unless you are purchasing a child’s camp folding chair, these portable chairs are made to support an adult’s weight. The label will say how many pounds the chair can hold. Make sure the material that the frame is made from is either aluminum or lightweight steel, never plastic.

Lightweight

Lots of extra features on your camp folding chair makes it fun, but don’t forget to consider the trade off of how much weight they add to the chair. Lightweight fabric and a sturdy, but lightweight frame will keep the total weight of the chair to a minimum. Since the entire point of a folding camp chair is to be portable, keeping the weight to a minimum is key.

Spending time in the outdoors is a great experience and more enjoyable when you are comfortable. That is one reason why camp folding chairs are not just for camping anymore. Men, woman and children all take they favorite seat when the go to the beach, lake, park, tailgating and of course hunting and fishing.

Now you know the three important factors to look for when choosing a folding camp chair for your next outdoor event. Keep them in the trunk of your car and always be ready for any occasion. Click here to discover the most popular features and styles available today in camp folding chairs.

Some folding chairs are designed to support only a certain amount of weight and may collapse if additional weight is added. Before using folding chairs for your event, it’s a good idea to find out in advance who will be attending and make other seating arrangements for people who can’t comfortably or safely use the folding chairs.

Mill Brook Industries offers a wide selection of chairs such as folding chairs and tables to suit any occasion in a variety of styles, sizes, colors and finishes.
