INTERIOR DESIGNERS: Do you have any old bedroom to cool loft interior design ideas?

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Question by Allyce: INTERIOR DESIGNERS: Do you have any old bedroom to cool loft interior design ideas?
Above my garage, there’s this extra bedroom. My family uses it as an attic. We keep old stuff, some nonperishable food, and just junk up there. I want to turn the attic into a cool place for me to maybe sleep, do homework, etc. The furniture (minus the junk) is pretty simple. It’s a queen sized bed with a low headboard (with the mattress and bedding there as well) and generally very low, like an oak or fir wood. Same goes for the dresser, only the dresser is a little old and rickety and doesn’t work very well. There’s a long plastic table and I can get a folding chair. The reason I wanted to use the attic was because the architecture in the room was so cool! The ceiling slopes a little (the rafters are not visible) and on the stairs up, there’s this little piece of wall that just hangs out as a divider from the stairs and the rest of the room because the room starts before the stairs end.
The room is completely white, and there’s a closet with ceiling to floor mirrors. There are two windows- one is very long and near the bed, and one is right near the stairs. The room is about the size of a small bedroom.
I cannot buy furniture, but I want to know what I can change on a less than 100 dollar budget.
Any ideas? THANKS!

Question by Kim C: Any ideas on decorating folding chairs without chair covers?
I just don’t see the point in renting chair covers for my party, but I want to punch up the decor a little bit. Pics would be appreciated! TIA

Lay down a tarp and take paint/paint brushes and splatter paint them tons of different colors :) It’d be a lot of fun too!

Question by Sue: Need flower ideas for my wedding!?
My wedding colors are fuchsia, champagne and white. I am on a budget and need some inexpensive beautiful flowers and decor ideas. I am having a outdoor wedding and would like a garden theme and also bring it into the decor at my reception (indoors) any ideas? My wedding will be in June 2010 in a shady grassy area with white folding chairs and a wicker basket type off white arch with white calla lilies and greenery intertwined in it (already on the arch when rented) but calla lilies are to expensive from what I’ve seen. need some help please!

Answer by AngelSkywalker5
go to a florist and ask. Flower prices are also seasonal. Best to ask them which cheaper flowers are available around June time.

HELP!!! wedding ideas and advice?

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

Question by IT’S A BOY!!: HELP!!! wedding ideas and advice?
ok so i have a few more questions:
1)MUSIC- need ideas for the dollar dance, father daughter(that would also be apporiate for the son and mother to dance too at the same time

2)we are having metal, folding chairs for the ceremony and i have bundle of flowers with raffia tied around it, would that look ok on the chairs(since it would be more in the middle hanging, or should i just put something on the ground

3)its an outdoor wedding in a pasture, its fall and im using browns, orange and yellow, what kind of shoes can i go with
( no heels, and pics would be great)

4) after the ceremony, walking up the aisle, would footloose be ok or should that be for when we enter the reception?

Best answer:

Answer by chrystalique
1. I’d say ask the DJ for help with the dollar dance song options. As for the father/daughter & mother/son dance there is a great Celine Dion song but I don’t remember the name of it (the DJ should know).

2. I wouldn’t put anything on the metal chairs because you don’t want to highlight that they are metal chairs.

3. Strappy flat sandals that match your outfit like the greek olympian style sandals that tie across your foot and around your ankle.

4. I’d save Footloose for the reception.

Several Important Ideas For Outdoor Lawn Furniture

Several Important Ideas For Outdoor Lawn Furniture

When people think about outdoor lawn furniture thoughts of plastic formed chairs and folding lawn chairs come to mind. Sometimes some of that outdoor lawn furniture can be very comfortable but I am here to tell you about some outdoor lawn furniture that every person should have in his or her backyard to help waste away those lazy summer days. Sitting out in the yard is all about comfort and while some of that other outdoor lawn furniture can be very comfortable there are others that can do an even better job.

If you are looking for comfort then outdoor lawn furniture like park benches that you would put in your garden are horrible investments. Nothing is more uncomfortable than a park bench. No matter how decorative they are they are still not very comfortable. The kind of outdoor lawn furniture I am talking about is the kind that puts you to sleep on a warm summer afternoon.

Let’s start with the hammock. Whether you tie it off to two trees or you get one with its own stand, a hammock is the perfect thing for your backyard and an essential piece of outdoor lawn furniture. If there is a breeze then the breeze will sway the hammock ever so slightly for you and off you go for the rest of the afternoon.

There are better ways, I am sure, to spend a summer day but in the realm of outdoor lawn furniture there is no better investment than a hammock. Just be sure that if you do tie it off to two trees that your connections are strong. There is no ruder awakening than a failed hammock.

Let Me Tell You about Chairs

The chaise lounge and the Adirondack chair are two very nice pieces of outdoor lawn furniture. If you are looking for a piece of outdoor lawn furniture that you can sit in but not necessarily fall asleep in then consider one of these two types of chairs. The best ones are made of wood and covered in a padded seat. There is something very relaxing about the unforgiving wood against the soft padded seat. You can waste many a summer hour sitting in one of these chairs and just watching the clouds go by.

Functionality and practicality are for indoor furniture and for the furniture you find in your office at work. For outdoor lawn furniture you want total comfort, as there can be no better way to waste a summer day than in your own backyard.

Question by SimplyDivine: Ideas for wedding outdoor decor…..?
I need help with decorating not pews but chairs. I can’t hang anything from them. It would have to be tied to the chair. They are white folding chairs. Our wedding is outdoors in a garden at a bed and breakfast. The theme is a elegant romance. Very formal. Any ideas will help and pics! Thanks!
Iam wanting to know what to do to the chairs at the end of the aisle.

if it’s in a garden, you’re in luck .it’s elegant and you don’t need much decoration. i would see about renting some chair cushions, maybe. also definitely get a bow of sorts for them, to tie to the back. you can use tulle or other fabric in your wedding colors. simple yet formal :)
