THEATER HISTORY: AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ – the 1988 3rd Season Opener featuring this performance of HONEYSUCKLE ROSE – was inspired by Stage Director Robert Cacioppo who persuaded Producer Mark Wilson the musical could be mounted on the limited Pre-Union rehearsal timetable of less than six days, with performances ending on night #5. This cast worked all day, then in the cast housing ’til 4am, sleeping 3 hours a night to get the show ready. Only champions could jump in that ring, and still be standing on this Monday night closing performance. (This rare video is from a single back-of-house camera with 23+ year old vhs tape recorded for archival preservation, educational purpose and documentation.) This was the first African-American production and performance EVER in the “quaint village” of Blowing Rock, where population was scarcely diverse in the 1980′s (or today). This was also the same year the musical was a Revival on Broadway, garnering a Tony Award Nomination, having won Best Musical exactly 10 years earlier. CONTROVERSIAL IN 1988? The performers would agree the significance of their presence within that context cannot be overstated. The atmosphere wasn’t quite as warm outside the theatre for these hot performers. Loren Harper, Judy Young, Keith Roberts, Terry Henry and Denise Gray are remembered also for their dignity in facing the cold quiet climate off-stage, where their own warmth was conspicuous as coal in snow. Every performance began with circled prayer backstage …

Question by Piece of Mind: Any creative ideas for this…?
I’m trying to find a way to attach a pen to a few dozen metal folding chairs so that those sitting behind these chairs can use and return the pen when finished.

Requirements:
1) Nothing can be permanently attached to the chair; the device must be able to be removed and re-applied any number of times.
2) The “pen” can be any writing instrument.
3) The device must be available for purchase or made using materials that are available for purchase. This must be proved by providing a web page reference (unless it’s a very common item).
4) The solution must look professional (e.g. “duct tape” can solve almost any problem, but usually doesn’t look very nice.)
5) The total cost per each pen and its associated attachment device must be $ 1 or less.
6) The device must be quiet (e.g. no Velcro).

Magnetic solutions are welcome. I’ve considered attaching magnets to the pens, but that risks violating #4 above – not a very graceful solution.

Thank you all for giving this some thought!

Answer by Kelli M
I am not sure how to do it, you would need to play with it.. but some fabric and some hot glue and you should be able to make little magnetic loops… see if you can visualize what I am saying… a small round magnet with a fabric hoop glued to it. the magnet would attach to the chair (for as long as you needed it) and the pens would slip onto the loop (noiseless & cute)

What do you think? Answer below!

theater history: Is not Misbehavin ‘- 1988 3rd Season opening performance of your feet too much – was directed by Robert Cacioppo, producer Mark Wilson is convinced the musical inspired by the limited pre-Union rehearsal schedule could be mounted less than 6 days with performances by Night # 5 This worked all day to throw, and then cast in case ‘the morning at 4 Sleeps 3 hours a night, the show done. Only a master could jump into the ring, and although this Monday evening performance has been closed. (This rare video is from a simple back-of-house camera with a 23 + year old video tapes to archival preservation, recorded educational use and documentation.) This was the first African-American production and performance ever in “picturesque village” Blowing Rock, where the population is unlikely to change in the 1980s (or today). This was also the same year musical was a revival on Broadway, where he scored a Tony Award nomination, Best Musical with exactly 10 years earlier won. Controversial in 1988? The artists would agree to the importance of their presence in this respect can not be overstated. The atmosphere was not quite as hot outside the theater for this hot performers. Loren Harper, Judy Young, Keith Roberts, Terry Henry and Denise Gray is also their dignity, where the cold air calm offstage when their heat was striking how reminiscent coal in the snow. Each performance began with prayer circles …

Question by Toby: Why is WWE adding fuel to the fire?
I copied this information from a wrestling source listen to this statement made by the WWE company

WWE.com is reporting that the following has officially been added to WWE’s Wellness Policy:

“WWE has eliminated using folding metal chairs to ‘strike’ an opponent in the head. The WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension the following: The intentional use of a folding chair to ‘strike an opponent in the head. Any blow to the head that is deemed an intentional act.”

Okay now how many people agree with me that WWE has become the most stupid wrestling company of all times?

I’m glad that after wrestle mania 26 I’m not watching WWE anymore.
