regina spektor – Folding Chair (Demo) Lyrics: Come and open up your folding chair next to me My feet are buried in the sand and theres a breeze Theres a shadow, you cant see my eyes And the sea is just a wetter version of the skies Lets get a silver bullet trailer and have a baby boy Ill safety-pin his clothes all cool and youll grafitti up his toys Ive got a perfect body, though sometimes I forget Ive got a perfect body cause my eyelashes catch my sweat Yes, they do, they do Now Ive been sitting on this abandoned beach for years Waiting for the salty water to cover up my ears But every time the tide come in to take me home I get scared, and Im sitting here alone Dreaming of the dolphin song Maybe one day you will understand I dont want nothing from you but to sweetly hold your hand Till that day just please dont be so down Dont make frowns, you silly clown Just come and open up your folding chair next to me My feet are buried in the sand and theres a breeze Theres a shadow, you cant see my eyes And the waves are just a frothier version of the skies Theres a shadow, you cant see my eyes please visit www.reginaspektor.com

The girl in the purple dress is gorgeous you haters! Great video, choreography and exactly the dance I picture in my head when I hear this really happy song. Good for you guys!! Keep up the good work, you’re amazing.
May 28th, 2010 at 7:25 am
i liked it.. it was a little scary… but good dancing, for some reason i felt kinda creeped out tho
May 28th, 2010 at 8:22 am
I think this video would be better if not for the use of mental retards.
May 28th, 2010 at 9:17 am
OK, fine, the only one thing I really like about this video is that dancers are so fucking HOT!!!
May 28th, 2010 at 10:09 am
I think the girl in purple did a great job…Regina Spektor is timid and shy so she did a great interpretation of her if that’s what they were getting at. Then again I might think you’re talking about the wrong person because I’m colorblind..lol
May 28th, 2010 at 11:04 am
i like it a lot! and I like the girl, although, she should open her mouth wider, would be more believable. Good job guys!!!!
May 28th, 2010 at 11:17 am
i think she did a good job, yay purple girl (:
May 28th, 2010 at 12:05 pm
aww! don’t pick out one person in particular to criticise. it’s mean! good on her for giving it a go x
May 28th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Great video. But I agee with TheMentalDisorder, it could have been better without girl in purple…….
May 28th, 2010 at 1:38 pm
this video could be great without this girl in purple, she is too shy and a very bad actress
May 28th, 2010 at 2:02 pm
This was clearly thought out and choreographed. Well done!!
May 28th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
Great JOB!!!! I prefer this version of folding chair…lol without the crazy monkey sounds lol
May 28th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
my new favorite version of folding chair. i like the surreal but touchable feel of it.
May 28th, 2010 at 2:51 pm
@ckgoat maybe we like it less pop~ish. the demo versions have significanntly more feeling. she does an awesome job.
May 28th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
me too
May 28th, 2010 at 4:11 pm
I like this one better then the albumversion
May 28th, 2010 at 4:27 pm
I love her demos so much.
When it’s just her and her piano.
May 28th, 2010 at 4:56 pm
im singing this song in school for a concert! a solo!
May 28th, 2010 at 5:49 pm
The album version was produced by Jeff Lynne. I like both Regina and Jeff. The demo song by itself sounds campy, like her other work, but Jeff does a great job transforming it to have a more more ‘pop’ style sound.
May 28th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
i like this one even better then the album version. it’s quirky
May 28th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
i think this version is more “round” if you understand the album one is more refined and sharp. i think both are equal in their terms.
May 28th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
think it’s for 04.(not sure)but i’ve head her play it live in o4.
May 28th, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Personally, I like the album version better. This one feels rushed and a bit disjointed at times. The newer one connects very well and I like the vocals in it better than in this one (even though her vocals in this one are still amazing).
May 28th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
I’m sorry I dont’t know when this demo was from
May 28th, 2010 at 10:24 pm
was this demo released in 08? or is it older?
May 28th, 2010 at 10:47 pm
I love this song, its funny and pretty
May 28th, 2010 at 11:21 pm
I love this song! After forcing myself to listen to only the album version for the past few weeks, it’s refreshing to hear the simpler version. The new one is growing on me, though. = )
May 28th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
i like the ending of this one better
and the way she says “wetter”
May 29th, 2010 at 12:25 am
I love regina.
period.
May 29th, 2010 at 1:08 am
She can do what she wants with her music but this version is a million times better!
May 29th, 2010 at 1:29 am
she screwed it up for the new album… it’s on her myspace
May 29th, 2010 at 1:35 am
i like this song…!!!:)
May 29th, 2010 at 2:16 am
i sorta like this version better.
May 29th, 2010 at 2:18 am
made to be a classic
May 29th, 2010 at 2:25 am

May 29th, 2010 at 3:09 am
Only the genius of Regina Spektor could create a song like this. <3
May 29th, 2010 at 4:01 am
*squeal* If it was possible to narrow down the top Regina songs, this one would make the cut by far!!!!!!!!! Can’t believe it’s on the next album
May 29th, 2010 at 4:41 am
this one has always been a favorite regina song. ^^

Many thanks for getting some time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and adore understanding much more with this topic. If doable, as you acquire expertise, can you mind updating your blog with far more info? It’s extremely helpful to me
